South Erin Mills was a huge, master planned community, located south of the 403, north of Dundas. There are 4 distinct areas of South Erin Mills, each with widely varying characteristics and demographics. West Erin Mills lies west of Winston Churchill Blvd. It was designed to be an upscale area with very large homes, however many have become duplexed due to the sheer size, which alters the demographic make-up of the area. Council Ring was built as a modest family neighbourhood, and ironically faces the same issues as West Erin Mills. Pheasant Run is a small area west of Winston Churchill Blvd, north of Burnhamthorpe Rd, which is the oldest area of South Erin Mills. Built in the late 70's, it has a woodsy, organic feel, and is covered in pathways and parks and encourages an outdoor lifestyle.
